DING DING DING!! I passed a cop on the way home, and when I looked down to see how fast I was going everything read ZERO. I stopped and got some gas and when I started the car again it all came back... but it was pretty creepy. It all just felt so wrong....

You are driving down the highway and yet your speedometer shows that you are barely moving? Is that is what is not right?

The wiring harness is probably loose behind the instrument cluster, or the relevant fuse is about to go.
In an older car, your speedometer would still work, because it'd be driven by a cable attached to the engine...
Did lights/radio/etc work?
