Okay, folks... I need help. (No, not that kind of help.) I'm driving to and from Ohio next week and I need DISTRACTION. Listened to any good audio books recently? How about a comedy CD? Or, if you really want to get creative... create a playlist for me of songs for the road!
Suggestions and playlists welcome!

Eddie Izzard's stand-up is great, but I'm sure you've already heard all that.
In that case, John Hodgman's "Areas of my Expertise" is pretty funny.
(I have copies of both if you're interested)
I actually like driving to the new NKOTB. Since it is Christmas time I also have a holiday playlist and tend to turn it up really loud and sing at the top of my lungs. Although the best part of that may be the way my kid looks at me when this happens. Travel safe my friend.
The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck
Also Patrick Stewart (of Captain Picard fame) has an EXCELLENT one-man show of the Christmas Carol on audio. I usually listen to it during my Christmas drive to Ohio...
I second Missy B and suggest you add the old NKOTB Christmas album to the mix. How can you go wrong with Joe crooning "I still believe in Santa Claus" ?
Either that, or you could get Twilight. *sigh* Edward Cullen- yum!
One day the recession will end and I'll buy an iPod car converter. I will put podcasts of "The Bugle" and "The Moth," and I will never want to stop driving.
To and from Ohio you say???
first do you have itunes? you do right? do genius playlists-seriously, GENIUS. also steven colbert's CD is so stinking funny. also in the comedy realm, go for mitch hedburg or demitri martin. very funny the both of them.
"The Kite Runner", "A thousand splendid suns" both by Khaled Hosseini, "The Lucky one", by Nicholas Sparks...those are the three most recent fav's of mine as far as listening to books on tape..I think you will love them, although I think you read "The Kite Runner", but if not it is a must....When are you leaving for your trip?
Hugs,
Annie
Hey, we don't need you laughing so hard that you forget you are driving...lol

NPR Driveway Moments
Bill Engvall 15 degrees off cool or Christopher Titus. I can send you the MP3's if you wish!
Here is some good transportation music.
Of course you will be driven mad by both because you won't be able to get either out of your head.
ANY David Sedaris Book. At this time of year? "Holidays on Ice".
