Band-Aids Are Evil

It's been only three days since the dermatologist, and my leg is already SORE from the stupid band-aids. The stitches are FINE, but my skin hurts so bad. The "after care" says that if my skin is irritated, to use tape and gauze bad. Wha? Like I just keep that around? Man... this stinks. And I have over a week more to go.

ha... I actually DO keep tape and gauze pads around, but I hurt myself a lot... go get some. They're cheap. You're right, bandaids do hurt. The gauze is better.

When do you get the stitches out?

Chariss - they make tape that is "ouchless" ... that and guaze pads should be in the first aid kit that you keep with your jumper cables, flashlight and can of spam in case the world ends :) Seriously, we have a whole "tape roll" of the ouchless stuff since stiches and booboos are a mainstay in our house. It's a good investment... love you!!

Are you allergic to adhesives or latex? Is your skin just sore or does it have a rash on it?

You can buy gauze and tape pretty cheaply at Walgreens (or a similar store). If you don't want to do that, just ask your doctor to give you some. They should be more than willing got give you a roll of tape and a handful of gauze. I hope you're feeling better soon!

No rash, just red from the stickies. I don't think I'm allergic. Want a photo?

no photo but like Maggie says you may have developed an allergy to adhesives and or latex. Nancy has that problem. It is one to check on and test incase you even go to the hospital. It is way better to know.
